My Original Scratched DVD - Can You Believe This?

I made this page to show you how I’ve been making backup copies of all my DVD movies and finally put an end to scratched discs, with out any hassle.

I’m definitely NOT a computer wiz, or some expert in technology, but backing up my DVDs was super easy, and a lot cheaper than replacing them every time one gets a small scratch.

My friends are always asking me how I did it… So I thought it would be easier to share my story on this page, and hopefully save some people the trouble of having to deal with scratched discs and wasted money.

Just last week I had my grandkids over watching TV, when Austin threw my favorite movie (Shawshank Redemption) and laughed as it hit the wall and left a huge scratch on the back. Normally I’m pretty good at keeping my temper, but man was I pissed! My daughter had just bought me the movie for Christmas and haven’t even had a chance to watch it yet.

He apologized, but that’s not the first time this same thing had happened… Over the past year the kids have damaged over 17 movies, and I’ve had to replace them all out of my own pocket. That’s a total of $340, and that number is only getting bigger and bigger (the kids come over almost every weekend).

This Is The Program I Used To Copy My DVD Movies

I was NOT happy at all. But what could I do? These are my grandkids… I love them dearly and it feels so wrong having to punish them. I knew I had to find a better way to solve this problem and finally put an end to scratched DVD movies once and for all.

I did a little research online and apparently scratched discs are actually pretty common now a days. So I thought… maybe I could somehow make backup copies of all my favorite movies, at least then I would have a backup copy if Austin decides to act up and start throwing things again. So I surfed around the Internet and found tons of people selling all kinds of dvd copy programs.

Long story short, I ended up wasting money on a few different dvd cloner software, until I found this really great program called “EZ DVD Copy”. Not only would it copy, backup, and burn my Shawshank Redemption DVD, but it also would allow me to backup all my other DVD movies and prevent this from ever happening again.

After I bought EZ DVD Copy, everything else was easy. I just sat back and watched the dvd copy software do its magic, and before I knew it a fresh, 1:1 copy of my movie was ready to go (it even worked on a brand new movie as well). I called my daughter up and told her how easy this dvd copy program was to use, she downloaded it and apparently it worked for her too. I truly believe that I would still be angry with my grandson (not to mention over $600 in the hole from scratched discs) if I didn’t find this software. That is why I have written this page.

There site will explain it a lot better than I could, so I’m not even going to bother trying.

Using a DVD Copy Program, You Can Finally Defeat Scratched Discs

There’s so many ways to copy a dvd, but you must make sure that you’re doing it legally. If you’re not careful, you could be looking at getting slammed with a fine in excess of $250,000 or more. Even worse, you might end up doing jail time for making copies of your DVDs (if you’re not careful of course). Find out how I make backup copies of my DVDs.

Okay so I know you’re wondering, then how the heck do I backup a copyrighted DVD? Let’s go over a few things that you must consider before starting to backup your dvd movies.

  • First of all, When making a backup copy of a DVD that has protection, you can not resell it under any circumstances. Don’t even think about attempting to redistribute it either (no free copies can be given away so don’t even think about it!).
  • Secondly, you need to get your hands on software that’s able to copy DVDs from one disc to another. Regardless if you’re a PC or Mac user, there is a dvd cloner that can work for you (but you’re not going to find it in the retail stores)!  The easiest way to get started copying DVD movies is to download a simple software from the Internet.

I’ll admit, the right dvd backup program to do this is going to cost you a few bucks. But, if we’re anything alike, your DVD collection is worth hundreds (possibly even thousands?) of dollars. The dual layer dvd copy software is a small investment that you have to make if you want to prevent your DVDs from getting scratched. The software that I mentioned isn’t even expensive believe it or not, I paid $30 bucks and have already backed up over 20 movies. Let’s see.. that’s $400 that I might be paying in the future if I didn’t find this software.

I’ve been copying my DVD movies for a few months now. During this time I’ve bought and tested 5 different dvd copy program, and I must say that some of them weren’t worth the money. They kept freezing up, they ran sluggish or the quality of the finished product was just plain poor. After testing the software for months on all sorts of DVD movies, I’ve been able to find the best dvd copy software that can successfully copy any DVD up to 99% of the time.

If you’re looking to start immediately, I recommend going with EZ DVD Copy (It’s the only one that gave me no problems).

Copy DVD Movies Using EZ DVD Copy – I Use It Everyday

EZ DVD Copy is no doubt one of the best gifts of modern technology. Finally movies buffs (like myself) have a way to copy DVD movies and defeat scratched discs forever. This software is all but powerful, featuring a wide range of benefits and features that you’re going to love.

When using this great DVD ripper software, you have full control and have effectively rendered scratched discs useless. Recently the creators of EZ DVD Copy have updated their software and now it’s able to backup even new DVD movies. In older versions of EZ DVD Backup, these features weren’t included and I was stuck not even being able to watch my favorite movie (because it was too new). Luckily this dvd cloner is widely available for download all over the Internet, so let’s look into the changes they’ve made with this new version.

The new version of EZ DVD Copy allows you to decide on your compression amount when copying your DVD movies. This feature is really cool because sometimes I don’t have all day to wait on the copies to be made. Using this dvd copy program, you can actually lower the compression and it will work faster (you could literally burn a movie within minutes with the right settings). Start backing up your DVD movies today.

Another great part of the new version is that isn’t a whole lot easier to use for us “non-techie” people. When I upgraded my dvd cloner, the interface was new and much easier to use and no doubt this was one of my favorites things about this free upgrade to my dvd ripper.

Make sure to check out my top post for more information on the best dvd burning copy software. I’ll shortly be writing a review for the best dvd copy program 2010, so stay tuned for updates.

Okay, I think I’ve explained it the best I can… but if you want to learn more information, just visit EZ DVD Copy .
